HBO needed something worthy of Game of Thrones' final season. Not a stunt. A statement.

Fandom is a form of devotion. And devotion implies sacrifice. Game of Thrones had spent eight seasons asking audiences to watch characters bleed for the throne.

We asked fans to do the same.

The immersive blood drive at SXSW, in partnership with the American Red Cross, kicked off a global initiative. Blood donations rose by 12% nationally. 350,000 globally.

It won two Clio Entertainment Grand Awards, D&AD Wood Pencils, a Webby, and more.

I led the team.
